I offer a safe and supportive setting in which to explore thoughts and feelings. Therapy can help to make sense of what is happening in your life, to explore different choices and to help you to feel better equipped for the future.ÊI have been working as a therapist for over twenty years, initially training as a counsellor, qualifying in 1995. I later qualified as a Psychotherapist in 2004, following a seven year training at the Gestalt Centre in London. This was an in-depth training spanning seven years and I was trained in both individual and group psychotherapy. My experience is very broad, having worked as a therapist in a variety of settings, such as the NHS, community counselling services and MIND. I worked as a therapist in the NHS for over ten years, in GP surgeries and in secondary care.I normally see individuals weekly and at the same time each week. This helps to maintain a sense of safety and consistency.Couples therapy can be weekly or fortnightly. When we meet together for a first session, we usually explore what you want help with and how therapy can best help you. It is also a time to get to know each other and to see whether we will be a good match for each other. Some people like to book further appointments and embark on therapy straight away. Others prefer to think about it for a short time.
