Are you struggling alone with a problem or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour? I will work sensitively and honestly with you to support and empower you to make positive life-enhancing Êchanges. I am a Person Centred Integrative Practitioner, based in South Manchester.ÊBeginning counselling may feel daunting, and I will help you to feel safe and to be someone you can trust. ÊPeople often find that through exploration of their experiences they can come to trust their own judgment. It is my belief that we are all unique and complex beings with a potential for growth.ÊI have completed many hours as a volunteer counsellor, working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and mental health problems. ÊMental health issues are still something people can be made to feel ashamed of and I commit to seeing you as a whole person, not defined by your problems. I have worked with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence, and also worked as a bereavement counsellor. ÊI am able to offer support and counselling in many areas of complex grief, including suicide and life-changing illness.I have a passion for working with children and young people, with extensive experience of working as a teacher. My Masters’ thesis was on the subject of Attachment Theory, and I have a special interest in how early attachment patterns can affect our adult relationships, strongly believing in the possibility of the healing which comes about through ‘earned secure’ or ‘secondary’ attachment; which can be achieved through the therapeutic relationship.ÊI continue to be research active, and recently held a workshop in Meditation and mindfulness at the 2018 Keele University Counselling (Research and Practice) Conference.I am committed to non-discriminatory practice and welcome diversity. People from minority groups are often marginalised and I will work to ensure I do not contribute to this.
