Hello and welcome! As you are reading my profile, I wonder what has prompted your interest in seeking counselling help at this time in your life. Telling you about my private practice and counselling experience might help you get a sense of how I work and whether to contact me for an initial session. My private practice is located in Brighton and Hove. I am a qualified Gestalt counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I also have a Post-graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy from the Metropolitan University London. As a counsellor, I aim to provide a trusted and breathing space for you to explore the issue you are currently facing and perhaps feel free to experiment with who you are. Taking a fresh look at your situation may increase your awareness and enable you to see new possibilities more clearly. I have a limited number of reduced fee spaces. I can offer counselling in French and through a diverse mixed heritage I understand some Arabic. I also welcome LGBT clients.Examples of issues explored with clients in charities I worked for or in my private practice are: bereavement, self-harming, addictions, domestic and relational violence, work- or life-related stress, relationship difficulties, mixed heritage identity, depression, bullying and emotional abuse, sexual abuse, anger, shame, chronic health conditions. I have also trained in sexual violation and abuse. I teach counselling at a local college in Brighton. A significant factor in the success of therapy is when clients feel understood and accepted. The initial session is therefore designed for us to meet and find out what itÕs like to have counselling together. It is also the opportunity for you, if you wish, to ask questions and discuss your expectations for the counselling. Besides, this initial session may enable you to decide whether or not you want to continue, as there is no obligation.I wish you all the best in finding a suitable counsellor.
