I am a qualified RMN psychiatric nurse and have a postgraduate qualification in counselling psychology. I also hold an LL.B(Hons) law degree and an LL.M Masters degree in law having spent many years involved in medical negligence and personal injury law.I work with a wide variety of problems but have a particular interest in PTSD and in working with adult survivors of sexual abuse. I also have wide experience in the psychological aspects of diabetes, heart disease and heart surgery. Additionally, I am experienced in working with returnees from conflict zones.I have a large number of solicitor clients and am skilled in providing services relating to catastrophic injury/personal injury and clinical negligence litigation and in associated report writing and court work.I am trained in person centred and humanistic therapies and have also used CBT extensively. ÊI tailor my methods to the individual client and work in conjunction with my clients to decide the best way to address their problems in an integrative therapeutic manner.***For all those clients who ask me about the car, itÕs a 1969 Volvo Amazon called, ÔHannibal.Õ I suffered a major heart attack several years ago which required quadruple heart bypass surgery and necessitated me spending a long time in ICU.It took me a long time to get back on my feet and I suffered from PTSD as a result of being near to death on several occasions. This is the car which I rebuilt Êas my own therapy, often on dark nights when I was anxious and depressed at what the future may hold. The same old car now takes me all over Europe and features in two novels.I see many clients with PTSD and find that my own experiences have now become a strength and help me to empathize and understand in a way that I probably would never have done otherwise.Drop me an email if you want to know more….
